Operating Review Audit Foundations
A six-week path that teaches development hub teams how to capture, classify, and present financial evidence inside an auditing app before each operating review.
What you will practise
- Map twelve review checkpoints to app screens and exports
- Build a repeatable intake checklist for vendor and expense trails
- Write variance notes that finance partners can approve without a call
- Assemble a board-ready packet from the auditing app’s native report set
- Set dual-control steps for payment exceptions in shared hubs
- Run a dry-cycle rehearsal timed to a Hong Kong review week

Modules
- Week 1 — Intake hygiene. Field naming, receipt capture quality, and how incomplete vendor records surface during operating reviews.
- Week 2 — Classification paths. Cost centres, project tags, and hub-specific codes that survive export into finance packs.
- Week 3 — Exception queues. Dual control, escalation notes, and what not to bury in free-text comments.
- Week 4 — Variance storytelling. Writing notes that connect app totals to the narrative your review chair expects.
- Week 5 — Packet assembly. Native report sets, redaction habits, and version labels for board circulation.
- Week 6 — Dry-cycle rehearsal. Timed walkthrough of a full hub operating review with peer critique.
Instructor
Ada Ng
Ada spent a decade supporting operating reviews for Hong Kong development hubs before joining Develtechhub Digital. She focuses on how financial auditing apps behave under deadline pressure—and where teams invent risky workarounds.
Learner notes
Week 4’s variance storytelling drills were the first time our ops leads and finance partner used the same vocabulary inside the app.
★★★★☆ Useful depth on packet assembly. The dry-cycle still felt rushed if your hub has more than four cost centres.
FAQ
Do I need access to a specific financial auditing app?
Yes. You should have a sandbox or training tenant for the auditing app your hub already uses. We demonstrate common patterns, not a single vendor’s marketing demo.
Is this suitable for first-time reviewers?
It works best if you have sat through at least one operating review. Pure beginners may prefer Desk Check Intensive first.
What is a real limitation of this course?
We do not configure your production tenant or migrate historical ledgers. If your hub needs implementation consulting, that is outside the curriculum and must be arranged separately.
Are sessions live for Hong Kong hours?
Cohort office hours are scheduled for Hong Kong evenings. Recordings are provided for the lecture blocks.
